Since the summer, I have been working on a project with a new client, Dave Proctor, and have mainly kept it under wraps.
For those who don't know, Dave Proctor is an ultramarathon runner extraordinaire, a massage therapist, the Founder of the Foundation Outrun Rare, and Guinness World Record Holder. Dave will be attempting the cross-Canada speed record in 2021 which is running 7,200 km over 65 days. For perspective of this amazing feat, that is 2.5 Marathons/day and will require him to cycle through 15 pairs of running shoes.
Dave started training with me at Vital this summer, after knowing him for a few years through our mutual contact, Tyson Plesuk at Movement Sports Clinic in Calgary. Dave had big goals for 2021, and with some recurring injuries in the past, he wanted to get ahead of those injuries working with us to formulate a better strength base for next year.
In the meantime, Dave was asked by a company called XSensor to run 100k in their insole sensor technology in order to collect valuable data about his running gait, and further understand the breakdown that happens during an ultramarathon of that length. The hope was that the information that we gathered and learned could be useful in designing our strength programs moving forward.
Dave roped me in, and a Podcast and Webinar in partnership with XSensor was born!

The podcast was designed to be a quick snippet into the full Webinar we recorded this week, that will be available early in November. If you're interested in registering for the event, register HERE.
